Mehn Maashyn: The Man Machine Bollywood Version
Yet another GOLDEN SHOWER release. This time  it's a new version of Kraftwerk's "The Man Machine." The original song has been deconstructed and played as if the German robots were really crazy Indians in a kind of transe caused by the excessive consumption of Chai, in some sort of B movie from Bollywood.
Check out the song section of the site .

This song was "constructed" as part of the digital magazine Urbanaque's Brazilian tribute to Kraftwerk. GOLDEN SHOWER appears together with bands like Ambervisions, Pipodélica, Daniel Belleza, Gerador Zero and Dietrich among others. There you can see all 14 of the songs that make up the virtual record.

PS: if you want the song with higher resolution audio, download it from our site.

Namasté!

New Songs!
Believe it or not, after 4 years without any significant update, Projecto GOLDEN SHOWER are back with new songs on line! It has been 4 hardcore years, so much work to do and so little time for pleasure. But during sleepless nights and whenever it was possible, GOLDEN SHOWER never gave up looking for some new references, searching for new obscure sounds, watching bizarre movies, collecting information for a new creative database so it could produce new thematic songs. And little by little the songs were made, coming to an “almost-ready” condition. So in the end of 2005 we compiled, cut, glued and mixed, turning everything into music and launching them once and for all.

There are 6 songs that, without any delay, we present here:

"Radio Data"
Listen…
It started as a short vignette made for the spoono.com guys, but people listened and liked it a lot, so it ended up as a real song. Analogical world, highly developed electro-electronics, when cassette tapes record radio sound waves through the space. No, it is not a Tomas Dolby lyric.

"Cotrofe"
Ugly, but hot.
Originally created for a Diesel animation made by Lobo, it became a song in honor of those hot girls from the 80’s who were proud of wearing a glow high-cut bikini in a tv show, a standing on end super stylish hair and a forehead band. It sounds a little like the beginning of GS, but with a brand new 2006 clothes (or a lack of it, if I dare say).

"Ich Will Spielen"
Mim Ker Tokar Komputer
The second GS cover. We were invited (or maybe we have invited ourselves. Anyway…) to take part in “Ainda Somos Inúteis”, a tribute CD to Ultraje a Rigor (a Brazilian rock’n’roll band that were really huge in the 80’s). it was launched by Monstro Discos and Migué Recods with a GS cover version of the classic hit “Mim Quer Tocar”. It turned out to be a kind of German electro thing, very stiff and dry, pretty much the opposite of the original song. Roger Moreira (the singer for Ultraje A Rigor) said he liked it. Did he?

"Stamp Color Sundae"
Ocean Pacific Shock Wave Splash Science
Surf boards, morey boogie, sun, beach, fluorecent colors, checkered outfit, lighting bolts, stupid tattoos, Champion watch with changeable bracelets… all together in an almost schizo way. New wave glitter gel on the hair and lots of Boingo-Devo-B-52’s in the walkman, sliced Hang Loose.

"Chrome On, Neon"
Neon, Chrome, Airbrush, Reflex, Sphere, Surreal, Glass
Fake guitars post-punk inspired by Sorayama’s sexy-cold chromed pinups. Reflexion of perfect horizons. Geometric surrealism. As Falco would say: “Rock me Amadeus!” – I guess.

"If I Were John Carpenter"
Don't you dare touch me!
Sound track for a horror movie that was not shot yet. This is for master John Carpenter. To listen in the dark and shit yourself.

Check out our music session and listen to them all.
Send us an email then with your opinion.
If you want you can download the old songs with better bitrate and art too.

There are 3 more songs being composed at the moment, but I rather not promise anything for a near future, if we take as an example the last 54 months…

Hey! Happy New Year!
This year will be different than the last 4.

February 5, 2005
7 months
Yes... It´s been 7 months since the last update. Seven months and not a
single word. No bad or good news. no news at all.

Some would say "no news, good news". I think I have already used this
expression here before.

The true is I am full of good will, but time is short. Shorter and shorter.

Some pissed off dudes have even dropped unkind messages in my mailbox due
the lack of fresh information in this website.

Ok, I apologize for that! I wish I could live for GS, but life is not
exactly like this.

Actually, GS was born to be like that: a free-time project, to be made when
it is possible, when I feel like, since its creation in 1997 . and, I
believe, until its end.

So I ask all the fans, pissed off or not, to be patient and wait. All things
comes to him who waits.

Cheers!

We are in Maya’s Portfolio!
If you don’t know what we are talking about, we can explain: Alias|Wavefront is the company that produces the software of modelling, tridimensional animation (3D) and special visual effects called "Maya" which is, as many experts say, the most professional and complete computer software of the market, widely used in publicity, cinema and TV all around the world.

Every year they make a 4 minute and a half compilation movie with the most important jobs that used the software. And guess what!!! There’s a piece of GOLDEN SHOWER’s music video "Total Control" in it. Yes, it’s true. The whole tridimensional part of our video was produced with Maya by the professionals of Lobo and Vetor Zero.
We are side by side with movies like SpiderMan, Stuart Little, Men In Black II, Star Wars: Attack Of The Clones, Minority Report, Harry Potter, a Levi’s commercial, and so many others! WOW!!! Wonderful!!!

To see Maya’s compilation movie (in Quicktime): CLICK HERE and select "Customer Work 2002" option in 42MB or 17MB version.

Digital Filmmaking, Broadcast Design, Music Video, Net Cinema. These are some of the subjects RES Magazine brings us every two months. Along with DV, RES is the most important title about motion art. And that's not all. RES Media Group, the one responsible for the magazine, also organizes the RESFEST, an international digital film festival.

They have already introduced to the World names like Spike Jonze [director, Fat Boy Slim, Daft Punk, Beastie Boys, Björk, Weezer, R.E.M. music videos; "Being John Malkovich" movie], Chris Cunningham [director, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher music videos], Tomato [design, installation art; Underworld], Dogme 95 [cinema], and so many others.

Traditionally, once a year, the magazine exhibits what they call RES 10: 10 names they believe to be innovative and with a potential to cause a great impact to the world-wide media. An eclectic list of names related with design, cinema, installation art, music, fashion, architecture and all kind of expression that mix a little bit of all of this.

Just to give you some names, last year this TOP 10 mentioned no one less than the brilliant John Maeda, the Hi-Res! Media Group, the experiments of Belief's Project EXP, the sense of humor of Bechamel, ...

Puffed up with pride, we have the pleasure to announce that, this year, Projecto Golden Shower was elected by RES Magazine as one of the 10 most promising names of digital language in the world. Ufff... in short: Fuck!!! :o)

This year the list points out names like Miuccia Prada & Rem Koolhaas, Trollback, Preloaded, Sam Arthur... just to give you an example.

Click here to see the page that talks about GOLDEN SHOWER with the wonderful article written by the creator of the first digital video website NewVenue, Jason Wishnow.

Also check out how to subscribe the magazine. And keep an eye on this year's RESFEST !

Thank you very much RES team, Jason Wishnow, LOBO...
Well... we don‚t know what to say anymore... it's beginning to look like an Oscar thing... urrgh...

HO HO HO!
GOLDEN SHOWER has created an eCard specially to wish you a Merry Xmas.
Lots of fun and a great 2002 for you!
But that's not a simple eCard, it's a game! To play online and enjoy our 80's-game-8bits-country remix of an old Xmas theme!

Titus and Vern are at Santa's Workshop. After being fired from the Baby Factory a month ago [The Remedi Project], Titus and Vern have been forced to take jobs as Santa's elves in this reciding economy.

With only days before Xmas, much work is to be done. In an effort to streamline Santa's run, Titus and Vern are loading multiple sleighs full of presents so they do not have to be loaded Xmas Eve. The only problem is, the elves making toys are all hopped up on Xmas cheer and are overproducing toys.

Your objective is to bounce the gifts to the sleigh without missing too many. Avoid bouncing dangerous items that may damage your trampoline. Remember, if you miss any gifts, there will be an unhappy child who will grow up to hate life and work at Starbucks.
Titus and Vern need your help!

Who could imagine that by searching for "golden shower" on Google our site would be on the top of the list?

THANKS A LOT!

Cool!! One more contribution to Projecto GOLDEN SHOWER Online!
Originally from Sao Paulo and currently living in Buenos Aires, Diego H Sánchez casually sent us this piece. And it's great! Take a look at the CONTRIBUTIONS section.

And for those who don't know, that section is open for everyone to show some creative output related to GOLDEN SHOWER and/or to the 80s. So, if
you consider yourself sufficiently infected by GOLDEN SHOWER's 80s virus, send an email to VIRUS with your work.
